Experience
Yannis has been involved in mountaineering and climbing from a young age. After many years of mountain exploration in Greece and abroad he decided to get into mountaineering education in 2010. Today, as a professional Mountain Guide, he is involved in training courses as a trainer and guides teams in ski touring, mountaineering and climbing.
His interest lies in ski touring, ice climbing, rock climbing, mixed climbing and hiking. In 1994 he completed successfully his first climbing ascent at Stefani on Mt Olympus and he has climbed since most of the headwalls of the Greek mountains.
In 1995 he visited the Alps for the first time, climbing all the classic routes. After that, he travelled in different mountains around the world, such as Cordillera in Peru, the Himalayas, Caucasus, the French, Swiss and Italian Alps, the mountains of Scotland, Slovenia etc.
In 2006 he moved for a short period in Chamonix in France, working, skiing and alpine climbing. He has worked for various companies of outdoor activities as well as a rigger in technical construction. He studies include electronics engineering and speaks French and English.
